Lielahti Manor
an innovative concept for a cultural center
Commissioned by the City of Tampere in 2024, we prepared a concept plan for an innovative cultural center for the historical Lielahti manor. Now the activities have begun and you can participate in many ways. You can download the concept plan in Finnish from the link below.
ARTIST AND CULTURAL COMMUNITY
The temporary spaces of the manor provide a framework for experiments in culture, art and community. The manor is looking for a wide range of artists and cultural actors, whose creative activities are supported by facilitation and community planning methods. The tenants of the workrooms are part of the manor's artist and cultural community, which also enables broader cooperation and experiments in various artistic and community processes. Applicants for workrooms are expected to be interested in being part of an active and outward-breathing community.
These active members form the core of a broader community formed around the manor's cultural activities, which is open to all city residents. We are particularly looking for people who are interested in being active in the community, developing its activities and creating new phenomena in the field of culture and art.
WorkSpace rentals, community grounds and membership types
The Lielahti Manor Cultural Center offers work space for artists, cultural producers and creative industries and enables community and voluntary cultural activities, such as various events, performances, exhibitions and workshops, as well as other ancillary services for everyone.
The manor also serves as a visitor center for the whole Hiedanranta region.
In addition to innovative cultural activities, the manor is intended to serve as a place for city residents to meet and share life together. To this end, residential spaces will be opened, the design and operation of which will support getting to know each other, networking and community spirit.
The center is temporary in nature, as the manor is awaiting renovation,
which is planned to start around 2030.
